Bamboo Celadon Porcelain Candle — Moso Bamboo Forest

The colour of integrity.

豆青 — Pea Celadon — is the glaze of moral character. 
In the Chinese literati tradition, bamboo symbolised 
the qualities a scholar aspired to: uprightness, resilience, 
the ability to bend without breaking. The 豆青 glaze — 
pale, clear, even — was chosen to carry this same 
quality of spirit.

The form of this bowl is shaped directly from the bamboo node. 
The ridged cylindrical body replicates the jointed sections 
of Moso bamboo, each raised ring a reference to the plant's 
natural structural integrity. The glaze pools gently in the 
recesses — lighter at the peaks, deeper in the hollows.

Hand-thrown by a single artisan. Not pressed. Not moulded. Made.

The Scent: Moso Bamboo Forest — 孟宗竹

Opens with green leaf and fresh lemon citrus. Moves through 
a full floral heart of ylang-ylang, lily and fresh bamboo. 
Settles into a clean musk drydown. The smell of a bamboo 
grove after rain. Quiet without being empty.

Base   — Musk

When the wax is spent, the bowl remains — a hand-fired porcelain 
piece to be kept, used, or gifted again.
