Oxblood Red Porcelain Candle — Winter Plum Blossom

霁红 — Oxblood Red — was historically reserved for imperial 
offerings to heaven and earth. This glaze demanded copper oxide, 
extreme kiln temperatures, and the kind of controlled 
unpredictability that only a master craftsman could coax into 
beauty. It fails nine times before it succeeds once. 
Each piece is a minor miracle.

This candle is hand-thrown and individually glaze-fired in the 
tradition of 霁红 ware. Each bowl carries a slightly different 
depth of red — from deep crimson to warm rose at the petal rim. 
No two pieces are identical. The ribbed form echoes the plum 
blossom, the flower that blooms through frost.

The Scent: Winter Plum — 臘梅

Opens with bright mandarin and bergamot. Softens into the heart 
of plum blossom and jasmine. Settles into a long quiet base of 
iris and musk. Cold and warm at once — like finding plum flowers 
in February snow.

When the wax is spent, the bowl remains — a hand-fired porcelain 
piece to be kept, used, or gifted again.
